this has been bugging me for a while and im not sure if its a me problem or the drone. flying out over open water mostly, good line of sight, no obvious interference and i start getting signal warnings around 800 meters sometimes even less. i know the specs say like 12km which is obviously marketing land but i'd expect at least a couple km without issues

i'm using the standard RC-N1 controller that came with it. phone is a pixel 6. wondering if thats part of the problem because ive heard some phones dont play nice with the signal chain or whatever. haven't tried a different phone yet

nothing physically wrong with the drone that i can see, antennas on the controller look fine. live in a pretty suburban area so i usually fly from a local park but this is happening over water too which is where i'd expect the best range. kinda stumped

the phone can definitely be a factor, some android phones throttle the wifi or USB connection in ways that mess with the signal display even if the actual OcuSync link is fine. but honestly the bigger thing i'd check first is antenna orientation on your controller ? they need to be perpendicular to the drone's direction of flight to get max signal, so if you're flying away from yourself the flat face of the antenna should be pointing at the drone not the edge. sounds basic but it's the thing most people dont think about and it makes a real difference

also worth checking if there's any FCC vs CE mode thing going on depending on where you are, CE limits the output power significantly

had something similar weirdly and it turned out to be my phone's USB cable of all things. a slightly dodgy cable was causing the connection between the controller and phone to drop intermittently and the app was interpreting it as signal loss. swapped for a decent cable and the warnings basically stopped. probably not your issue but worth trying if you haven't already since its the easiest thing to rule out
