this has been driving me insane for like three weeks. flying my DJI FPV in S mode, open field, nothing overhead, and it just randomly kicks into emergency brake out of nowhere. like full stop, hovers, then i have to re-input to get it moving again. doesnt happen every flight but when it does it usually happens a few times in the same session.

ive checked the obvious stuff i think. obstacle sensing is on but theres genuinely nothing there when it triggers. im wondering if its a firmware thing because this started after i updated, maybe two updates ago. goggles are the v1 version if that matters. signal strength looks fine on the screen when it happens.

anyone else had this or know what setting im missing because im starting to lose my mind a little

had something similar a while back. turned out my downward vision sensors were getting confused by certain grass textures and light conditions ? like late afternoon sun at a low angle would basically make the ground look weird to the sensors and it would spaz out. try flying at a different time of day and see if the pattern changes. also check if you have any ND filters on that might be affecting the vision system weirdly, ive heard of that happening.

the firmware timing you mentioned is suspicious too though. might be worth rolling back if DJI still lets you do that on your version, or at least posting in the DJI forum with your exact firmware string because theres usually someone tracking those patterns over there.

what does the flight log show for those moments? if youre not pulling logs after every session you really should be, the DJI flight log viewer will usually show you exactly which sensor triggered it. takes like two minutes and saves a ton of guessing
