FAA finally doing something about remote ID enforcement or still just talk?

so ive been following the remote ID rollout for a while now and honestly i still dont know what to make of it. like on paper the deadline passed, the rule is in effect, but i fly at my local park pretty regularly and i have never once been approached or asked about compliance. not saying i want to get hassled but it just feels like the enforcement side is basically nonexistent right now.

was reading something the other day that suggested the FAA is focusing more on commercial operators first before going after recreational flyers but i cant find the original source again. anyone actually seen any real enforcement action in their area or is this still mostly just the honor system at this point? also does anyone know if the new DJI mini 4 pro broadcast module actually works reliably because ive heard mixed things

from what i understand the FAA has been pretty focused on commercial and Part 107 operators when it comes to actual enforcement, which makes sense since those are easier to track down and fine. recreational stuff is harder because theres just so many people and not enough inspectors. i did read about a few cases in restricted airspace where people got nailed hard but that was more airspace violation than remote ID specifically.

the broadcast module on the mini 4 pro seems to work fine from what ive tested, picks up on the DJI Fly app and a couple third party apps without any issue. range seems ok too, not perfect but compliant as far as i can tell. the real test will be when more apps and enforcement tools catch up to actually reading that data in the field.

honestly the whole remote ID thing still confuses me a little, im fairly new to this. do older drones that dont have it built in just not get flown anymore or is there a way around it? i have a phantom 3 thats still flying great and im not sure what i need to do
