so ive been studying for about 6 weeks now and i think im ready but honestly not sure. been using the Sporty's course and also went through the FAA study guide pdf thing. the airspace stuff is clicking but i keep getting tripped up on weather ? like METARs and TAFs, i can decode them but the questions on the practice tests always have some weird edge case that throws me off.

also not sure how much of the test is actually airspace vs weather vs the other stuff. anyone who took it recently remember roughly what the breakdown felt like? i know the official breakdown exists somewhere but actual experience is different from what they say on paper.

test is at a PSI testing center thursday morning. kinda nervous tbh

took mine about 4 months ago and honestly the weather questions werent as bad as i thought they would be. like maybe 5-6 questions that really needed you to decode something, rest were more conceptual. the airspace stuff was heavier than i expected though ? a lot of reading sectional charts and figuring out what class airspace you're in at a given altitude. make sure you're comfortable with that tool they give you, the plotter thing, some people freeze up because they never practiced using it on a paper chart.

also dont overthink the loading and performance questions. they look scary but if you understand the concepts its usually just plugging numbers in. you got this, 6 weeks of prep is solid.

i failed my first attempt lol. not trying to scare you but just want to say the questions are written weird sometimes, like grammatically weird, and you have to read them twice. budget your time and dont rush. i think i panicked and went too fast on the first try and second guessed myself out of a passing score.
