Mini 3 Pro vs Air 3 ? is the price difference actually worth it for a casual flyer

  • Members

so ive been going back and forth on this for like three weeks now and i cant make up my mind. i fly maybe once or twice a week, mostly nature stuff and the occasional family trip. nothing serious, not selling footage or anything like that. my budget is pretty flexible but i dont want to spend money just for specs i'll never use.

the Air 3 dual camera thing is tempting because i feel like i'd use that telephoto more than i think i would, but then again the Mini 3 Pro is so much easier to throw in a bag and the under 250g thing means i dont have to stress as much about where i'm flying. i already have the RC-N1 controller from an older drone so that's a small factor too.

has anyone actually switched between these two or own both? curious if the Air 3 low light is noticeably better in real world use not just spec sheets

had the mini 3 pro for about eight months before i upgraded to the Air 3 and honestly for casual flying the mini 3 pro is probably the smarter buy. the size thing is real ? i took it on a hiking trip

i have the air 3 and love it but im probably not the right person to ask because i came from a Mavic 2 Pro so everything felt like an upgrade lol. the low light thing is real though, flew at dusk last

had the mini 3 pro for about eight months before i upgraded to the Air 3 and honestly for casual flying the mini 3 pro is probably the smarter buy. the size thing is real ? i took it on a hiking trip where i never would have brought a bigger drone and got some of my favorite shots ever. the Air 3 image quality is genuinely better especially in golden hour light but if you're not pixel peeping on a big monitor you might not care that much.

the telephoto on the Air 3 does get used more than you'd think though. once you have it you start framing shots differently. so i dunno, i keep going back and forth on whether i made the right call upgrading tbh
