RC2 screen keeps going dim randomly, anyone else had this

  • Members

not sure if this is a setting i'm missing or an actual problem but my RC2 screen just randomly dims down to like barely visible brightness sometimes mid flight and i have to tap it or mess with the settings to get it back to normal. super annoying when you're trying to keep an eye on the feed in bright sun.

i've got auto brightness turned off, or at least i thought i did. running the latest firmware. it doesnt happen every time, maybe like one in every three flights. happened once when i was doing a long orbit and it kind of freaked me out because i couldnt see where the drone was going for a second.

tried searching around but most of the threads i found are old and people were talking about different firmware versions so not sure if there's a fix by now or if this is just a known thing people live with

yeah this drove me crazy for a while. check if the RC2 has a separate screen timeout setting buried in the display menu, its different from the auto brightness toggle. i think theres a "screen sleep"

could also be a heat thing. i noticed mine does something weird with brightness on really hot days, like over 30 degrees it starts behaving differently. no idea if thats by design or a quirk but worth

yeah this drove me crazy for a while. check if the RC2 has a separate screen timeout setting buried in the display menu, its different from the auto brightness toggle. i think theres a "screen sleep" or something similar that can kick in even when you think youve disabled it. mine was set to 2 minutes and i never noticed because usually my flights are shorter. once i set it to never it stopped happening mostly.
