our club did a group sunrise flight this morning and it was actually pretty great

so anyway we've been trying to organize something like this for months and it finally happened. eight of us showed up at the field at like 5:45am which i was honestly not sure would happen given how bad we are at actually committing to plans. but yeah everyone came through. we had everything from a tiny whoop guy buzzing around at ankle height to dave with his massive octocopter that thing is absurd. the light was unreal for about 20 minutes and a couple people got some genuinely nice footage. somebody almost flew into the tree line chasing the sun angle but we dont need to talk about that. point is if your club hasnt done a sunrise thing yet just do it, way more of a vibe than afternoon flying

the early morning flights are something else, the air is usually smoother too before the thermals kick in. we did one at a lake last summer and the mist sitting on the water looked insane on footage. glad yours came together, those group things always seem like they wont happen and then they do
