ok so ive been going back and forth on this for like three weeks now and im losing my mind a little. i was pretty set on the mini 4 pro but then i started reading about the autel and now im second guessing everything. my main use case is travel, mostly hiking trips and the occasional beach vacation, nothing super technical. i dont need to do any serious cinematic stuff just want decent footage that doesnt look like garbage when i put it on my tv.

the thing that keeps pulling me toward the autel is that it doesnt need to be registered in as many countries which sounds nice on paper but honestly i dont even know how often that would actually matter for where i go. the mini 4 pro obviously has omni directional obstacle avoidance which feels like it should be the obvious tiebreaker but then someone in another thread said the autel's sensors are underrated and i dunno.

has anyone actually used both of these or switched from one to the other? would love to hear from people who actually fly them not just spec sheet comparisons

had the nano+ for about 8 months before i switched to the mini 4 pro and honestly the autel is a solid little drone but the dji ecosystem just wins for me. the fly app is more polished, the obstacle avoidance on the mini 4 pro genuinely saved my footage a couple times when i got a little too cocky flying near trees, and the image quality edge goes to dji in my opinion especially in low light. the autel footage isnt bad at all but when i compared clips side by side there was just something a bit flatter about the colors coming out of the nano+ even after grading.

the registration thing is a bit of a myth in practice imo, like if youre going to europe or southeast asia you still need to sort out local airspace rules regardless of weight class. dont let that be the deciding factor.

im kind of in the same boat as you so not sure how much help i am lol but i ended up just going with the mini 4 pro about a month ago and havent regretted it. the return to home works really well and for a first proper drone it feels like theres a lot of safety net built in which i appreciated. only thing is the wind resistance is something to keep in mind if you go somewhere coastal, it handles ok but it is a small drone at the end of the day
