I've been studying wind resistance specs across different models and noticed a clear correlation between thrust-to-weight ratios and real-world performance in gusty conditions. A drone with a high thrust-to-weight ratio can generate the necessary thrust to combat strong winds, ensuring a smoother and more controlled flight. My Mini 4 Pro (TWR ~3.5:1) struggles beyond 15mph sustained winds, while my enterprise Matrice (TWR ~4.2:1) remains stable up to 24mph. Anyone else seeing similar patterns with their fleet?
Also found that the "max wind resistance" in your drone's manual is the absolute limit ? not your target. A safer bet: fly only when the wind is two-thirds or less of that rating. This 67% rule has prevented several close calls for me.
