mini 4 pro keeps losing signal even indoors??? not sure whats going on

  • Members

ok so i got my mini 4 pro about 3 weeks ago and ive been having this weird thing where the signal drops really suddenly even when im not that far from the controller. like today i was in my backyard maybe 80 feet away and it just went to a solid red warning on the app. came back after a few seconds but still. i live near a pretty busy road if that matters. im using the RC-N1 controller that came in the box, havent upgraded or anything. is this just a wifi interference thing or is something actually wrong with mine. the footage looks fine when i review it but the dropouts are making me nervous especially since i want to start flying farther out soon

yeah almost definitely interference. the RC-N1 runs on your phone's wifi bands which is honestly kind of a mess in any suburban area. busy road with lots of cars means lots of bluetooth and 2.4ghz garbage floating around. you can try going into the app and manually switching the channel or forcing it to 5.8ghz if youre close enough, that helped me a lot. also make sure your phone doesnt have any apps running in the background that are trying to grab wifi, that can cause weird stutters too. if you ever plan on flying farther than like 300 meters seriously just get the RC2, the occusync on that thing is a completely different experience

i had the exact same thing happen to me when i first got mine and honestly i panicked thinking it was broken. turned out my neighbor runs some kind of mesh network with like 6 nodes and one of them is right near the fence. moved to a park a few blocks away and never had the issue again. might just be your specific spot more than the drone itself
