So I've had the original Avata since like early, been flying it with the Goggles 2 and the motion controller mostly. Love the thing honestly, its been pretty bulletproof for me even had a few nasty crashes in tight spaces and it just shrugs it off. But im starting to see the Avata 2 everywhere and I'm genuinely not sure if its worth the jump.

My main thing is I already own the Goggles 2 so I'd still be using those, and from what I understand the RC Motion 3 isn't a massive leap over the motion 2 for how I fly. The camera improvement looks real though, the low light stuff especially. Anyone actually gone through this upgrade and felt like it was worth it or am I just falling for the gear acquisition spiral again lol

honestly if you're happy with what you're doing on the original I wouldnt bother. I made the jump and the camera is genuinely better, the d-log m thing is nice if you edit your footage, but flying feel is not dramatically different. Like the horizon steady feature is cool for a few days then you forget its there. If your Goggles 2 are already paid off I dont see a compelling reason unless you're shooting stuff where image quality is the whole point.

I came from the FPV not the original Avata so slightly different perspective but I'll say the obstacle avoidance on the Avata 2 in tight indoor spaces is actually pretty usable now, they tuned it way better than the first one from what I could tell when I borrowed a friends unit. Whether thats worth the price difference just for that, probably not if you're already comfortable flying without it. The low light camera thing is real though, shot some stuff at golden hour and it held up way better than I expected.
