so ive been flying my mini 3 pro for about 8 months with zero issues and now out of nowhere it just drops connection like every single flight. happens at different distances too, sometimes at 200m sometimes closer to 400m but theres no pattern i can figure out. its not like im flying behind buildings or anything, usually open fields or the coast.

i updated the firmware last week and honestly cant tell if thats when it started or if it was already happening before. the RC-N1 shows full signal bars right up until it drops and then it just goes into RTH which fine, but still annoying. checked all the antenna connections on the controller, everything looks seated okay. im on 2.4ghz mostly, tried switching to auto and that didnt help either.

anyone dealt with this? im starting to think its interference but i dont really know how to diagnose it properly. also flying near a beach so maybe that has something to do with it, not sure if salt air does anything weird to the antennas

the firmware update is absolutely the first thing id look at. there was a sketchy OTA that went out a while back for the mini 3 that caused all kinds of weird signal behavior for people and DJI kind of quietly pushed a fix a few builds later. check what version youre on and look at the release notes on the DJI forum, people were losing RC connection at way shorter ranges than they should have been.

also for what its worth the RC-N1 antenna orientation matters a lot more than most people realize, flat face of the antenna should be pointing at the drone not the edge. sounds obvious but ive seen people flying with it angled all wrong for months. and yeah 2.4 near the beach can get messy if theres a lot of wifi traffic from beach houses, marinas, campsites etc. might be worth pulling up an RF analyzer app on your phone and just seeing whats around you when you get those drops

had something similar and for me it turned out to be my phone interfering with the RC-N1 signal. i had it in my pocket while flying and every time i pulled it out to check something it would mess with the connection. probably not your issue but worth ruling out i guess
