trying to decide between these two and cant find anyone who has actually flown both back to back. most reviews are just one or the other and half of them are clearly sponsored anyway so.

im mainly doing freestyle, not racing, so top speed doesnt matter as much to me as how it feels on the sticks ? like does it snap well, does it have that locked in feeling or is it floaty. i know both use decent motors but the frame geometry is pretty different from what i can tell, the mark5 has that longer wheelbase which some people say makes it more stable but i dont want stable i want punchy

budget isnt really the issue here, i just dont want to buy the wrong one and spend three months wishing i got the other

had a mark5 hd for about 6 months, sold it actually. it flies well dont get me wrong but for freestyle i found it a bit too planted, like it wants to track and go fast more than it wants to do chainsaws and split s stuff. the longer wheelbase thing you mentioned is real, it does affect the feel. for racing or cinematic bando stuff its probably great.

never flown the roma personally but a guy at my field has one and it looks more lively in the air honestly. just going off watching him fly it not from the sticks so take that for what its worth

these threads always come down to personal preference but i'll say this ? geprc quality control has been more consistent in my experience than diatone. had two diatone quads over the years and both had some annoying little issue out of the box, one had a slightly bent motor shaft on arrival and the other had a vtx that ran hot. could be bad luck. the mark5 i have now has been pretty much trouble free for like 40 packs which is better than most of my builds lol

for freestyle snappiness you can tune a lot of that in betaflight anyway, p term, response curve stuff. the frame geometry matters but its not the whole story. if you're already comfortable tuning i wouldnt stress too much about which one, either can be made to feel good
