VTX power settings for race events - interference nightmare or strategic advantage?

Been experimenting with VTX power management at our local races and seeing conflicting advice. Some pilots recommend dialing down to 25mW in crowded events for clearer video feeds, but others insist on running 200mW+ to cut through interference. My current setup is running HDZero at 100mW with stock antennas on a 5" racing build.

What power levels are you guys running for 8-pilot heats? Are there specific frequency coordination strategies that work better than others? Also curious about antenna positioning - I've seen people mount them at weird angles claiming better reception.

The MultiGP championship requires 25mW Raceband or HDZero transmitters, so there's clearly a standardization push happening. Worth noting my local track has concrete walls which seem to create multipath issues regardless of power level.

25mW is the way to go for events with 6+ pilots. I've tested this extensively and higher power just creates more problems than it solves. The concrete multipath you mentioned is real - try positioning your VTX antenna at 45? instead of vertical, it helps with reflections.

The antenna positioning thing is mostly placebo unless you're dealing with specific reflection patterns. Focus on frequency coordination first - use a spectrum analyzer if your group has one. Most "interference" issues are actually poor channel selection, not power levels.
