this has been bugging me for a while and i finally decided to just ask. flying in a pretty open area, not a ton of buildings or anything, and i start getting the signal warning around 800 meters sometimes even less. used to get way further without issues. nothing has really changed in my setup, same controller, same phone if i'm using the app, same everything basically.

i did update the firmware a couple weeks ago but i cant tell if thats when it started or if it was already happening. its not like it disconnects completely but the warnings are annoying and i dont want to push it further when its already complaining at me. anyone else seen this or have any idea what to look at first

check your antenna orientation on the RC controller, this catches people out way more than you'd think. the antennas need to be pointed roughly toward the aircraft for best signal, a lot of people just leave them straight up out of habit but depending on where youre flying that's not always optimal. also worth checking if theres any wifi interference in the area, 2.4ghz congestion can be brutal in some spots even if it looks open. have you tried switching the transmission frequency manually in the settings?

had something similar after a firmware update last year, different drone but same kind of deal. for me it just kind of sorted itself out after a few flights which is not helpful i know lol. one thing worth trying is the signal diagnostics in the DJI fly app, theres actually a fair bit of info in there if you dig around. also weirdly i noticed my signal got worse when i had my phone in my pocket near the controller, no idea if thats a real thing or coincidence but worth ruling out
