EVO II Pro keeps losing connection mid flight ? anyone else had this

this has been bugging me for a while now and its starting to get genuinely worrying. im flying in open areas, nothing crazy, maybe 400-500 feet out and occasionally the feed just drops and i get a connection warning on the controller. it usually comes back after a few seconds but yesterday it held the disconnect long enough that the RTH kicked in and i nearly lost the drone in some trees because the landing spot it picked was not ideal to say the least.

im running the latest firmware i updated maybe two months ago. the SkyLink controller seems fine otherwise, battery health is good, no obvious interference sources nearby. not sure if this is a controller issue or something on the drone side or what. anyone dealt with this?

check if youre flying anywhere near cell towers or wifi heavy areas even if it seems open, 2.4ghz interference can be pretty sneaky. also have you tried swapping which frequency band the controller uses? theres a setting in the Autel app to toggle between 2.4 and 5.8 and sometimes just switching fixed this for people. worth trying before you assume its a hardware problem

I had something similar last spring and it turned out to be a loose antenna connection inside the controller of all things. Took it apart (carefully, it voids warranty obviously) and one of the internal antenna leads wasn't fully seated. Fixed it and the dropouts stopped completely. Not saying thats definitely your issue but if the software stuff doesnt help it might be worth sending it in to Autel support ? they were actually pretty responsive when I contacted them, got a reply within a couple days which surprised me honestly given how some companies are.
