I mainly fly in wooded areas with some buildings, so I need good penetration but also don't want to lose signal when I move my head slightly. I've seen reports that TrueRC antennas show less frequent bitrate drops compared to stock antennas. Anyone done actual range tests comparing these two?

You're overthinking it - both are solid antennas from reputable manufacturers. Even budget antennas often provide similar reception to expensive ones, and the performance difference isn't always obvious. I'd focus more on having a good omnidirectional antenna paired with whichever patch you choose.
