my mavic air 2 keeps losing signal near the park and i dont get why

so this has been bugging me for a while. there's a park i fly at pretty regularly, been going there for like two years no problems. lately though - and i mean just the last month or so - ive been getting these weird signal drops, like the video feed gets choppy and once it actually triggered RTH which freaked me out a bit. the drone was maybe 400 meters away, nothing crazy.

nothing has changed with my setup as far as i know. same controller, same phone, same everything. i did update the firmware a few weeks back but i cant remember exactly when the signal stuff started so im not sure if thats related. fly mostly in the mornings on weekends.

anyone dealt with something like this or know what would suddenly cause interference in a spot that used to be totally fine

There's a few things that could cause this honestly. First thing id check is whether anyone put up a new cell tower or 5G installation near that park - that stuff can absolutely hammer your 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz signals depending on what bands are being used. Also worth checking if theres any new construction nearby with heavy equipment running, ive had interference from generators before at a spot that used to be clean.

The firmware thing is worth looking into too. There were some reports a while back of certain Mavic Air 2 firmware versions having OcuSync stability issues but i dont remember the exact version numbers. Might be worth digging through the DJI forums for that specifically. Also just try switching the transmission frequency manually in the app instead of leaving it on auto, sometimes auto makes weird choices.

Had almost the exact same thing happen to me at my usual spot last summer, turned out there was a new wifi router setup at a building right on the edge of the park running on 5.8GHz. owner had no idea it could affect drones obviously. once i switched my controller to 2.4GHz only it got way better. might be worth just walking around the area and seeing if anythings changed physically
