my quad feels sluggish on flips, not sure if its a tune thing or just me

so ive been flying freestyle for maybe 6 months now and i can land clean rolls and split-s pretty consistently but whenever i try to do a flip, especially a front flip, the quad just feels... heavy? like it completes the rotation but it doesnt snap back, it kind of wobbles at the end and i have to correct manually. im running a 5inch on betaflight 4.4, rates are pretty high i think, i just copied someones rates from youtube. idk if i need to tune the P and D terms or if my throttle management going into the flip is just wrong. probably both honestly

yeah that wobble at the end of flips is almost always a D term thing, your D is probably too low and not catching the overshoot. but also ? and dont take this wrong ? if youre just running someone elses rates without knowing what they feel like on YOUR quad with YOUR motors and props, thats gonna cause all kinds of weirdness. rates affect how fast the sticks command rotation but the tune is what actually executes it cleanly. id bump D gains up a little at a time and also check if your filters are doing too much work, sometimes heavy filtering kills that snappy response people associate with a good freestyle tune

throttle going into the flip matters way more than people say. i used to have the same issue and half of it was i was chopping throttle too early before the flip even finished. try keeping a little throttle through the whole rotation and see if it feels different. might not fix the wobble completely but it helped me a lot
