so i picked up the avata 2 about five weeks ago after debating between it and just getting a whoop to build myself. figured id share some real world stuff since most reviews i watched were from people who clearly only flew it for like two days before uploading.

first thing ? the goggles 3 integration is really smooth, way smoother than i expected coming from zero fpv experience. i was worried the learning curve was going to wreck me but the single-stick motion controller is actually pretty intuitive after maybe an hour. the turtle mode has already saved me twice when i flipped it in the backyard like an idiot.

my one gripe and its a real one is the range feels a bit conservative compared to what dji advertises. i know that number is always best case scenario but still. also the props get scuffed up faster than i thought, already on my second set. battery life is fine, roughly what they say, maybe a little less when youre really going for it.

overall though? super glad i went this route instead of trying to build something. the footage out of this thing at 4k is just silly good for a cinewhoop. would recommend to anyone whos been curious about fpv but intimidated by the building and tuning side of things.

yeah the prop durability thing is a known issue, lots of people in the avata community stock up on like 10 sets at a time because it adds up. theres a few aftermarket options that hold up a bit better but i cant remember the brand off the top of my head, someone in the avata subreddit posted a comparison a while back.

honestly curious how you find it compared to a traditional cinematic drone if you've flown one. i have a mini 4 pro and have been eyeing the avata 2 but im not sure if the footage style is something id actually use or if its more of a fun thing. like is the stabilization good enough for slow cinematic stuff or is it really just for the fast dynamic flying
