I'm running into some serious issues after updating my Mini 4 Pro to the latest firmware. The gimbal calibration now takes 3x longer, and I'm getting random compass errors that weren't there before. DJI Assistant 2 shows older versions available (V01.00.0700 vs current V01.00.0800), but when I try to downgrade, it just fails silently. Has anyone successfully rolled back to a previous firmware version using Assistant 2? I've read about some models being locked from downgrading past certain versions, but this should be recent enough to allow rollback.

I've had success with firmware rollbacks, but rollback isn't possible on all models or for all versions - if Assistant 2 doesn't show the older version in the list, that version is locked. Before you try again, write down your current firmware version number from DJI Fly, because you'll need it to find the correct firmware file.

This is exactly why many professional pilots don't update immediately before a job - waiting 3 to 5 days after a major firmware release lets other pilots identify any new issues. DJI has released firmware updates that caused compass calibration failures and SD card errors before.

If Assistant 2 keeps failing, try connecting with a different USB cable or port. If the drone is unresponsive after a failed update, DJI Assistant 2 can often detect and recover a partially updated drone. Also make sure your battery is above 50% during the entire process.
