so this has been bugging me for a while now. Randomly during flights the video feed just cuts out for a second or two and sometimes the RC shows a signal warning before coming back. It doesnt crash or anything and i get full control back pretty quick but its unnerving especially when im over water or further out. Happened maybe 4 or 5 times in the last month.

Im not flying anywhere unusual, mostly open fields and once at the beach. Refreshed the firmware last week thinking that might do something but happened again yesterday. Using the RC-N1 with my phone if that matters. Dont have another controller to test with.

Anyone dealt with this or know what usually causes it, is it the controller, the drone itself, interference from something? Trying to figure out if i should contact DJI support or if theres something obvious im missing first

the RC-N1 with a phone setup is honestly kind of the weak link in that whole system in my experience. Phone signal interference, notifications firing in the background, screen brightness settings throttling the processor ? all of it can cause weirdness with the video feed. First thing id try is putting the phone in full airplane mode before you fly, not just DND but actually airplane mode, then re-enable wifi so DJI fly can still work. Also check if youre running any battery optimization on your phone that might be killing background processes.

If it keeps happening after that then yeah reach out to DJI, they have a refresh program and honestly their support has gotten better. But start with the phone stuff first because thats usually it with the N1 combo.

Had something similar with my Mini 4 Pro last summer turned out there was a cell tower pretty close to one of my regular spots causing interference on the 2.4ghz band. Switched to 5.8 in the app settings and it pretty much stopped. Worth checking if DJI Fly lets you lock the frequency or at least see which band its using
