so ive been planning this trip to iceland for like 6 months and just realized i should probably look into the drone rules there before i show up with my mini 3 and get it confiscated or whatever. anyone been? from what i read online its pretty strict near the national parks and you need some kind of permit but the info i found was from 2021 so who knows if its still accurate

also wondering about the wind situation. ive heard it gets absolutely brutal out there and im a bit worried about losing the thing over a glacier or something. any general advice welcome honestly

went last year, the wind is no joke man. i had days where i just didnt even bother taking it out of the bag. the weather apps are kinda useless too because conditions change so fast, like one valley is calm and the next one over is a nightmare. id say just be patient and wait for your windows, there will be calm mornings if you get lucky

permit wise i used the environment agency website, think it was ust.is or something like that. took a few days to get approved so dont leave it til you land
