So ive been going back and forth on this for like three weeks now and i cant make up my mind. I already own an EVO II that i picked up used last year and honestly love it, the image quality is great for what i do which is mostly real estate and some landscape stuff on weekends. But i keep seeing the Pro pop up used for decent prices and the 6K Micro Four Thirds sensor sounds really appealing especially for lowlight situations which is honestly where my regular EVO II kinda struggles.

The thing is i dont do any professional video, its really just hobby use and occasional stuff i post online. So is the larger sensor actually going to make a noticeable difference in my use case or is it one of those things where on paper it sounds great but in practice you're squinting at your phone screen and it doesnt matter. Anyone gone from the regular to the Pro and actually felt like it changed things for them?

went through exactly this about a year ago. honestly the lowlight difference is real and not subtle, like genuinely noticeable when you pull footage into your editor. the dynamic range on the Pro sensor gives you a lot more to work with in post. that said for real estate stuff shot on a nice day you'd probably struggle to tell them apart if someone showed you both clips side by side without labels.

depends what you mean by occasional stuff posted online too. if youre just compressing down to 1080 for instagram or whatever then yeah probably overthinking it. but if you ever find yourself shooting at dawn or dusk or in tricky lighting the Pro earns its keep pretty fast. i'd say if the price gap is under like $200-250 used, just get it. you wont regret having the better sensor even if you dont always need it.

im probably not the best person to answer since i only have the regular EVO II but i just wanted to say i had the same debate and ended up keeping mine and honestly have zero regrets. for real estate work clients have never once complained or asked for better quality haha. so maybe dont fix what aint broken
