so i've been flying recreationally for about two years now and finally decided to just bite the bullet and get my part 107. signed up for the test at a testing center about 40 minutes from me, got about 4 weeks to prepare. i bought the Tony Northrup course thing and ive been going through it but honestly some of the airspace stuff is really confusing me. like the sectional charts especially, i just cannot get my head around the different class airspaces and how to read the magenta vs blue shading and all that. also the weather stuff, i took a weather class in college like 8 years ago so some of it is coming back but some of it really isnt. anyone have tips on what actually shows up on the test vs what i can kind of skim over? i dont want to spend 40 hours memorizing stuff that ends up being like 2 questions

the airspace stuff is honestly the most important part, i wouldnt skip it. when i took mine probably 70% of the questions felt airspace related in some way, either directly or they were kind of sneaky about it. the sectional chart reading is definitely on there, like they'll give you a snippet of a chart and ask what applies to a drone flying at a certain altitude in that area. just spend a lot of time with the practice charts honestly, there are free ones on the FAA website and also sporty's has some decent free practice tests that are pretty close to the real thing. the weather stuff is real too but mostly just basic stuff like understanding METARs and knowing what different cloud ceilings mean for legal flight. i passed on my first try with an 87 so it's totally doable, just dont rely on one resource, mix a few together

i used the prepware app and honestly that alone got me through it. just did like 50 practice questions a day for 3 weeks and by the end i was consistently hitting 90+ on the practice tests. the actual exam felt easier than the practice stuff weirdly. the airspace thing clicks once it clicks if that makes sense, just keep doing questions until it does. good luck
