keeps drifting when i let go of the sticks??

so this has been bugging me for a while now. whenever i let go of both sticks my drone doesnt just stop and hover, it kind of drifts sideways or forward a little. i thought these things were supposed to just stay still when you let go. its not a huge amount but its noticeable especially when im trying to get a specific shot and it just slowly creeps out of where i want it. is this normal or is something wrong with mine

its the mini 2 by the way, been flying it for maybe 3 months, never crashed it or anything. happens both indoors and outside.

outdoors this is almost always just wind. even a light breeze that you can barely feel on your face can push a small drone like that. the GPS hold is good but it's not magic, there's always a little bit of play especially if the wind is coming and going in gusts rather than a steady direction. try flying on a calmer day and see if it still does it.

indoors though that's a different story because GPS doesn't really work inside. the Mini 2 switches to vision positioning indoors which uses the cameras on the bottom to hold position, and that system really does not like certain floor surfaces ? plain carpet, glass, anything really uniform without texture. if the vision system can't get a good read it'll drift. nothing wrong with your drone, just a limitation of how the system works.

also worth checking if your IMU needs calibrating. i had something similar and ran the IMU cali through the DJI Fly settings and it helped quite a bit. not saying thats definitely your problem but its worth trying if the wind explanation doesnt pan out. takes like 5 minutes.
