this happened a couple weeks ago and its still bugging me. was out at this state park, been there before no issues, but this time when i was maybe 10 minutes into the flight my controller started going off saying something about restricted airspace and the drone kind of slowed down on its own. i landed it and left because i panicked honestly. looked it up when i got home and i think maybe there was a temporary flight restriction or something? i didnt see anything obvious when i checked the map beforehand but maybe i missed it. anyway is this something i should be worried about, like am i going to get a fine or a call from someone. and how do i actually check for TFRs before i go out because clearly whatever i was doing wasnt working

TFRs are genuinely annoying because they can pop up with very little notice and most of the consumer apps dont update fast enough to catch them in real time. the FAA has their own site, skyvector shows them, and there's also 1800wxbrief you can call actually talk to someone. for your situation though if you landed right away and didnt get any further into the restricted area you're probably fine, enforcement for accidental TFR busts by recreational flyers is pretty rare unless you were near something high profile like a wildfire or a presidential movement. the geofencing on DJI birds kicking in and you landing was honestly the right outcome even if it felt scary in the moment

what drone were you flying? some of the older ones the geofencing database doesnt update unless you sync before the flight and even then TFRs are hit or miss. i flew into a soft geofence once near a stadium on game day and had no idea there was even a no-fly zone there, the app had shown green when i checked that morning. ended up just landing and walking out. never heard anything. state parks can also have their own rules separate from FAA stuff so worth checking if the park itself allows drones at all, some of them dont regardless of airspace class
