Hey everyone! I just passed my Part 107 and got my first real estate client lined up, but I'm totally stumped on pricing. What should I charge for basic listing photos? I've seen everything from $150 to $500 online and I have no clue what's realistic in my area (suburban Chicago). The client wants about 20 aerial shots of a $400k property. Should I charge per photo, hourly, or a flat rate? Any advice would be amazing!

Entry photography can be a few hundred dollars per shoot so you're in the right ballpark. For Chicago suburbs, I'd suggest $250-350 for a standard package. Don't undersell yourself - you have professional certification and equipment costs to cover.

I started at $200 for basic packages in my area and worked up from there. Flat rate is definitely the way to go - easier for both you and the client to understand. Include 15-20 edited photos and maybe offer a premium package with video for $100 more.

Don't forget about your insurance and travel time costs! A standard $1M policy often falls between $500 and $1,000 per year so factor that into your pricing structure. I charge $300 minimum in similar markets and it's been working well.
