quad feels sluggish after retuning, not sure what i changed

so this has been bugging me for a few days now. i went in and messed with the PIDs on my 4inch because i was getting some propwash on fast direction changes and now the whole thing just feels... heavy? like its still flying fine and its not oscillating or anything obviously wrong but the response just isnt there the way it was before. it kind of reminds me of when i had filtering too aggressive but i dont think i changed the filtering this time.

i bumped the D term down on pitch and roll because i read that helps with propwash but maybe i went too far. i cant remember exactly what the original values were because i didnt write them down before i started, which i know is stupid. running RPM filter, 4s, the motors are maybe 10 hours on them so not brand new but shouldnt be worn out yet.

anyone had this where lowering D makes everything feel mushy rather than snappier? im wondering if i need to bring P up to compensate or if its something else entirely. betaflight 4.4 if that matters

yeah lowering D without touching P will do exactly that. D is part of what gives you that crisp locked-in feeling, its not just for suppressing oscillations. if you took it down a bunch you basically

this is why i screenshot my diff all before doing anything lol. learned that the hard way. anyway the mushy feeling could also be your TPA kicking in at the throttle levels youre flying at, worth chec

yeah lowering D without touching P will do exactly that. D is part of what gives you that crisp locked-in feeling, its not just for suppressing oscillations. if you took it down a bunch you basically softened the whole response. try nudging P up maybe 5-8% and see if that brings some life back before you go touching D again. also check your master multiplier if you're using the simplified tuning slider ? sometimes people accidentally move that and forget about it

also on 4.4 the RPM filter defaults are a bit more aggresive than 4.3 if you upgraded recently, that could be contributing even if you didnt manually change filter settings. just something to be aware of
