Help needed: EVO 1 controller won't pair after firmware update

  • Members

Hey everyone! I've got a frustrating problem with my original EVO. After a firmware update attempt, my controller and drone refuse to pair. The update failed halfway through and now I get yellow flashing lights on the drone and 'connecting' or 'matching' messages that timeout. I've tried manual firmware updates via SD card and USB but nothing works.

Anyone else dealt with this? I've called Autel support multiple times but they keep suggesting the same fixes that aren't working.

Had the exact same issue! Try doing the pairing sequence in a completely open area away from any metal or interference sources. Also check for firmware updates via the Autel app to fix bugs and avoid interference by pairing in an open area.

This usually happens because the image transmission version of the aircraft body and the remote controller don't belong to the same aircraft firmware versions. You might need Autel to reflash both devices to matching firmware versions.

I'm having similar issues with my EVO 1 - the matching button doesn't even light up anymore. Make sure both drone and transmitter are fully charged, then power off both devices and power on the drone followed by the transmitter. Really frustrating when basic functions don't work!
