so ive been dealing with this for about three weeks now and its driving me insane. im flying a mavic 3 and maybe 400-500 meters out it just drops. not every time, maybe like 1 in 4 flights. RC-N1 controller, standard setup nothing custom. the thing is it doesnt fully disconnect like the drone keeps flying it just goes into hover and i lose the video feed for like 10-15 seconds then it comes back. sometimes it doesnt come back and i have to RTH manually once i get close enough.

ive already tried switching from 5.8 to 2.4 which helped a tiny bit maybe? hard to tell. flying in a suburban area so there's definitely some wifi congestion but ive flown here before without issues. updated firmware last week thinking that might fix it but nah still happening. at this point im wondering if its a hardware issue with the controller antenna or something on the aircraft side. anyone dealt with this exact thing before

the suburban wifi thing is probably more of a factor than you think tbh. 2.4ghz is absolutely saturated in residential areas, like every router, bluetooth device, baby monitor etc is fighting for the same spectrum. 5.8 can actually be cleaner depending on your neighborhood even though it has less range on paper. have you tried using something like WiFi Analyzer on your phone to see whats actually going on in your area before you launch? sometimes theres a specific channel that's just getting hammered and the drone's OcuSync is constantly trying to negotiate around it.

also worth checking - are you keeping the controller antennas oriented correctly relative to the aircraft? sounds basic but the flat face of those RC-N1 antennas should be facing the drone not pointing at it edge-on. ive seen people fly for months not realizing they were basically pointing the null of the antenna pattern right at the aircraft the whole time.

had almost the exact same thing on my mini 3 pro, turned out there's a cell tower like 800 meters from my usual spot and whenever i flew in that general direction it would get flaky. took me forever to figure out. tried repositioning my launch point by like 50 meters and it basically went away. probably not your issue but worth checking if theres any pattern to which direction you're flying when it drops
