what are people actually charging for real estate these days ? feels like prices are all over the place

been trying to figure out if im undercharging or if my market is just weird. im in a mid-size city in the midwest and ive been doing residential real estate packages ? like 10 to 15 edited aerials plus a short orbit video ? for around $175. talked to a guy at a fly-in last month who said he charges $350 for basically the same thing in a similar sized city and books solid. talked to another pilot who said he can barely get $120 in his area. so is it just totally regional or is there something else going on like reputation or how you market yourself or what.

also curious if anyone has found that offering add-ons like twilight shoots or 3D scans actually moves the needle on revenue or if its more trouble than its worth. i have a mavic 3 pro and been thinking about getting into matterport type stuff but the barrier to entry seems high.

pricing in this industry is genuinely all over the place and i dont think theres one right answer. in my experience the pilots getting top dollar arent necessarily in bigger cities, theyre just better at positioning ? nicer website, faster turnaround, maybe they specialize in luxury listings so the realtors they work with have bigger budgets. $175 for a full package sounds low to me but if you're booking 3 or 4 a day maybe it works out, volume can compensate a bit. the twilight shoots are worth it if you charge properly for them, i do a $100 add-on and they book pretty regularly for nicer properties. matterport is a whole separate investment and learning curve, id hold off unless you have clients already asking for it.

honestly the regional thing is real but i think people also undersell themselves because they're scared of losing the booking. i raised my base price by $50 like eight months ago expecting pushback and i think i lost maybe one or two clients who were probably the most annoying ones anyway. the realtors who care about quality didn't even blink. not saying that works everywhere but it might be worth testing before assuming your market won't support more.
