so ive been flying solo for like two years now and honestly its getting kind of old just going out by myself to the same fields. heard there was a big fly-in down in indiana last year but missed it because i found out too late. does anyone know of anything coming up around ohio/indiana/michigan area? doesnt have to be huge, even just a small group thing would be cool. my buddy tried to get me into the local RC club but they're mostly fixed wing guys and kind of look at quad flyers like we're not real pilots lol

there's a group on facebook called midwest fpv meetups or something close to that, they organize stuff pretty regularly through summer. last one i went to was maybe 30 people, mix of cruisers and racers. pretty chill vibe. someone always brings a canopy and theres usually food. worth looking up

yeah the fixed wing guys at my club were the same way at first but honestly once they see you fly they warm up pretty fast. we do a mixed fly-in every august and now its like half and half. might be worth giving them another shot, some clubs are just slow to come around
