so i finally made it out to one of those group flight meetups everyone keeps talking about, the one our local club does every second sunday. and look, it was fine, people were nice and everything but i dunno. spent more time standing around talking about gear than actually flying? like we were there for 3 hours and i maybe got 4 or 5 batteries in. half the time someone was doing a demo or explaining their setup to someone else and the whole field would just stop. maybe i just went in with the wrong expectations but i think i prefer just going out solo and flying for 2 hours straight without all the stopping and starting

yeah that tracks honestly. the social side is kind of the whole point for a lot of people at those things, espcially the older AMA crowd. if you just wanna fly a ton of packs then a group meetup is probably not gonna scratch that itch. i still go occasionally cause its the only way i ever find out about new spots or get to try someone elses quad but i totally get where youre coming from

nah i disagree, half the stuff i know about flying i learned just standing around watching other people at meetups. you cant get that from youtube. but fair point about the battery count, its definitely not efficient flying time
