EVO Nano keeps disconnecting mid flight ? anyone else had this

  • Members

so this has been driving me crazy for the past couple weeks. im fairly new to all this, got the Nano back in the spring and it was working fine for months. now randomly during flights the app just loses connection, the drone hovers in place which i guess is what its supposed to do but its happening more and more frequently. sometimes it reconnects after like 20 seconds, other times i have to land and restart everything.

i dont think its a range thing because it happens pretty close in, like within 100 feet sometimes. updated the firmware a while back but not sure if that could have caused it. running it off an iphone 13 if that matters. havent changed anything else really.

check if you have any apps running in the background that might be competing for the bluetooth or wifi connection. also the Autel Sky app has been a bit flaky with certain iOS updates, worth checking if theres a newer app version even if the firmware is current. those two things are different update tracks and people mix them up all the time.

also ? and this sounds dumb but ? try a fresh pairing. unpair the controller from the app completely, restart everything, re-pair from scratch. fixed a weirdly similar dropout issue for someone in our local club.

had something similar after one of the ios updates messed with background app refresh or something. never fully figured out what caused it but it got better after i stopped using wifi calling on the same phone lol. probably not the same thing but worth rulling out interference stuff first before assuming its the drone
