this has been happening for a few weeks now and i cant figure it out. im using the RC2 with my air 3 and maybe 3 or 4 times a flight i'll get that dreaded signal lost warning and the drone just hovers there for a few seconds before it reconnects. it hasnt flown away or anything but it scares the hell out of me every time especially when im over water.

i dont think its a range issue because it happens even when the drone is pretty close, like 100 meters away sometimes. ive already tried the usual stuff, restarting everything, recalibrating the compass, making sure there's no firmware updates pending. someone told me it might be the wifi channel interference thing but im not sure how to fix that or if thats even the problem. anyone dealt with this

yeah the wifi interference thing is actually pretty likely depending on where your flying. the RC2 uses the O3 transmission system but it can still get congested in areas with a lot of 2.4 and 5.8ghz noise like parks near neighborhoods or anywhere with lots of people around with phones and routers nearby. go into the DJI fly app settings and try switching the channel mode to manual and pick a less crowded channel, there's options in the remote settings somewhere in the connection menu. made a noticeable difference for me when i was flying near a beach with like a hundred people around.

also worth checking the antennas on the RC2 physically, one of mine got slightly loose at the base from being in my bag and it was causing weird dropouts. just press them firmly and make sure they click.

had almost the exact same thing with my RC2 a while back. turned out my phone case was somehow interfering, oh wait no you have the RC2 not the phone holder version, nevermind that. but the channel switching thing the person above mentioned is probably your best bet. i'd also try a full cache clear on the fly app just incase, sometimes that thing gets weird after updates
