so ive been dealing with this for like three weeks now and its starting to drive me insane. running a ronin S with a Sony A7III on my custom hex and the roll axis just slowly drifts to the left during longer flights. its not immediate, takes maybe 4-5 minutes into the flight before you start noticing it in footage, and by the time i land there's like a 6-7 degree lean that wasnt there when i took off.

ive recalibrated the IMU probably five or six times at this point, tried reconfiguring the motor stiffness settings through the app, even did a full reset and started from scratch. doesnt seem to make a difference. the weird part is if i do a short 2-3 minute flight its completely fine, so it seems like a heat thing maybe? or vibration buildup? i dont know. the hex has some minor vibes at certain throttle ranges but nothing i thought was bad enough to cause this.

anyone dealt with something similar or have ideas where to actually start diagnosing this

had almost the exact same issue on a Ronin SC, different airframe but same drift behavior after a few minutes. turned out the motor balance was slightly off and the gimbal was slowly losing the fight against it over time. the heat thing is actually plausible too because the motor drivers get warm and PID response shifts a bit. what does your motor current graph look like in the assistant app during a longer hover? if roll motor current is creeping upward that's usually a sign something is fighting it constantly.

also check that your camera plate is actually sitting level and not flexing at all under vibration, because ive seen that cause slow drift where the gimbal is technically working but its chasing a moving target.

might be a dumb question but did you balance the camera physically before letting the gimbal take over? i made that mistake early on, just slapped the camera in and let the motors handle it. works fine at first then slowly gets worse the longer it runs. the motors are compensating the whole time and eventually they just cant keep up as they heat up.
