DJI FPV drone keeps going into normal mode mid flight, anyone else?

  • Members

so ive been flying my DJI FPV for about 4 months now and randomly it just drops out of manual mode and snaps into normal mode while im in the middle of a run. it happened twice last week and honestly nearly gave me a heart attack both times because the braking is so aggressive compared to what i was doing. i double checked all my settings in the fly app and everything looks fine, flight mode is set correctly, i even recalibrated the remote unit. the goggles are the v2 by the way and im using the stock motion controller actually no wait i switched to the standard remote 2 a while back. anyway has anyone seen this? i cant find anything useful in the manual and the DJI support chat was useless as usual

yeah this happened to me a while back, turned out my right shoulder button was slightly sticky and was registering phantom presses. the mode switching on that remote is tied to that button and if it gets any false input it'll just bail out of manual. worth checking if there's any debris or if the button feels different than the left one. i ended up opening mine up which i dont recommend unless you're comfortable with that kind of thing, but a can of compressed air first might do it

could also be a firmware thing tbh. there was a period where a specific firmware version had some issues with mode retention, i don't remember which one exactly but worth checking if you're fully updated or if there's a thread on the DJI forums specifically about it. also what's your signal environment like? never heard of EMI causing this but i guess anything's possible
