finally picked up an EVO II Pro after months of research ? some thoughts

so ive been flying a Mavic Air 2 for about two years and honestly it served me well but i kept eyeing the EVO II Pro every time i saw footage comparisons. the 6k sensor and the fact that it doesnt need geofencing unlocking the same way DJI does was a big factor for me. finally pulled the trigger on a refurb unit about three weeks ago.

first impressions ? the build feels really solid, almost chunky compared to the Air 2 which i kind of like. the Skylink app took a little getting used to, felt a bit clunky at first but once i got the hang of where everything lives its actually fine. image quality is genuinely impressive especially in low light, which was one of my main reasons for switching.

one thing that caught me off guard is the obstacle avoidance feels a bit more conservative than what i was used to, kept slowing me down in situations where i probably wouldve been fine. not a dealbreaker just different. also the battery life is pretty decent, getting around 35-37 minutes in calm conditions which is close to what they advertise.

anyone else made a similar switch? curious what accessories people are actually using day to day ? ND filters, cases, that kind of thing

i went from a Phantom 4 Pro to the EVO II about a year and a half ago and yeah the transition takes a minute. the app thing is real, Skylink has gotten better with updates but it still doesnt feel as polished as DJI GO. that said i genuinely do not miss dealing with NFZs on every job, that alone made it worth it for me.

for NDs i've been using the Freewell set and they fit well, no complaints. a lot of people go with Polar Pro but honestly at this point the Freewell ones do the job for a fraction of the cost. for a case i just use a Nanuk 935 with custom foam i cut myself, works perfectly and the drone fits with props on if you angle it right.

the obstacle avoidance thing you mentioned ? is that across all modes or just in like auto/smart modes? asking because im about to buy one and i fly a lot of manual stuff close to structures so that could be a thing for me. also did the refurb come with a warranty or anything
