this has been bugging me for a while and im not sure if its just how the drone is or if somethings actually wrong. basically when i hover in place it drifts pretty noticeably, like not just a tiny bit but enough that id have to constantly correct. calibrated the IMU and compass a few times, doesnt seem to help much.

its not always super windy when this happens either. sometimes its pretty calm and itll still wander. i fly mostly in an open field so its not like im near buildings messing with the GPS signal. running the latest firmware i think, updated maybe a month ago.

anyone dealt with this on the Nano series specifically? i know its a lighter drone so i assumed maybe it just struggles more but my buddies Mini 2 holds position way better and thats also a small light drone so im not sure that explains it

had something similar on mine a while back and it turned out to be a compass calibration issue but not in the obvious way ? i was doing the calibration near my car which was throwing it off. moved way out into the field, did it again from scratch and it improved a lot. also worth checking if youre in GPS mode vs the other positioning modes, sometimes it defaults weird after an update.

honestly the Nano+ is a bit twitchy compared to larger birds, thats just kind of the nature of sub-250g drones in my experience. but the drifting you're describing does sound more than normal. one thing i'd try is an IMU calibration on a completely flat surface, like actually use a level to check your table or whatever youre setting it on. even a slight tilt during calibartion can cause this kind of thing. also check if any of the props have any damage even tiny nicks can affect stability more than you'd expect on a small drone like that.
