flying in Iceland next month, anything i should know?

so ive been planning this trip to Iceland for like 6 months and obviously the drone is coming with me. bringing my mini 3 pro. ive done some reading about the rules there but honestly its a bit all over the place depending on where you look. i know theres a lot of national park areas where you just flat out cant fly and i think you need to register or something but im not 100% sure if thats just for heavier drones or all of them.

also just practically speaking ? the wind there is apparently insane. like ive flown in some gusty conditions before but people are telling me iceland is on another level. anyone actually been there with a drone and can tell me if the mini 3 handles it or if i was gonna get my thing yeeted into a glacier

went last summer with my air 2s and honestly the wind thing is real, there were days i just didnt even bother taking it out. you kind of have to be opportunistic about it, like you get a calm window for 20 minutes and you go. the footage i got near jokulsarlon was unreal though so worth it for sure. just check the environment agency of iceland website, thats the official one for no fly zones around the national parks. some of the most popular spots like skogafoss and such you technically cant fly at but enforcements pretty light from what i saw, use your own judgment i guess

the registration thing applies to all drones over 250g i believe so your mini 3 pro just barely squeaks under that. double check tho cause i read something about it changing. also pack extra nd filters cause the light there is weird, like super flat and diffused a lot of the time, you'll want to play around with exposure more than usual
