my quad just flips out doing split s ? tune issue or me being bad?

so ive been trying to get clean split s maneuvers down for like 3 weeks now and every time i pull through the bottom the quad just wobbles and kinda porpoises before it settles. im on a 5inch running betaflight 4.4 and i havent really touched the rates or PIDs much since i built it. its flyable for sure but tricks feel sloppy. not sure if this is a me problem or if my tune is just garbage for freestyle. anyone else had this with a fresh build?

almost definitely your D term is too low. when you unload at the bottom of a split s the props go from loaded to unloaded really fast and if D isnt catching it youll get that bouncy porpoising thing.

honestly could be both lol. i was in the same spot and turned out i was also pulling way too hard through the bottom which makes it worse even with a decent tune. smoother inputs helped me a lot befor
