ok so this is a weird one and im not sure if its actually the firmware or something else but the timing is suspicious. updated to the latest firmware yesterday through the fly app, everything seemed fine, took it out this morning and the omnidirectional obstacle avoidance is just... not behaving right. like it triggers way too early, like 8-10 meters out on objects that are clearly not a problem, and in some cases it just stopped the drone mid-flight for no reason i could see.

flew this exact same spot last week with no issues. nothing changed except the firmware. appsync settings look the same, sensitivity is set to normal not where i had it before actually wait let me check that again ? yeah no its on normal. bypass mode is off.

anyone else seeing this after the update or am i just unlucky. debating rolling back but i dont even know if thats possible on the fly app anymore

yeah rollback isnt straightforward with the current fly app, DJI basically locked that down a while back. you'd have to use the assistant 2 software on desktop and even then its hit or miss finding the older firmware packages depending on your region.

the over-triggering thing sounds like it might be a calibration issue that got reset during the update rather than the obstacle avoidance algorithm itself changing. try doing a full IMU calibration and then specifically recalibrate the vision sensors if the app gives you that option. ive seen updates wipe sensor calibration data before and the symptoms are pretty much what you're describing ? drone freaking out at objects that arent actually close enough to matter.

had something similar on my air 2s after an update a while back, turned out the sensitivity had been reset to aggressive without me noticing. but you said you checked that so maybe not the same thing. the mid-flight stops with no visible obstacle are weird though, thats not normal even with aggressive settings. might be worth checking the flight logs in the app to see what sensor triggered it
