This has been happening for a few weeks and I cannot figure it out. Flying the DJI FPV in manual mode, everything feels fine, then out of nowhere it just drops into attitude mode and I nearly auger it every single time. Already had one close call over a field last week.

I thought it was the controller but I swapped it out with my other one and same thing happened. Firmware is current. Signal strength looks fine in the goggles. The only thing I havent done is a full recalibration of the IMU which im going to try tomorrow but honestly I dont even know if that would cause this specific issue.

Anyone seen this before? I feel like its something dumb I'm missing but I've gone through the settings three times and nothing stands out.

Check your mode switch on the controller ? not just the physical switch but actually go into the assistant software and verify the mode assignments are mapping correctly. I had something weirdly similar a while back and it turned out the spring mechanism on the mode switch was getting a false reading intermittently, like just enough contact to register a switch event but not consistently enough to see it happening visually. Drove me insane for two weeks before I figured it out.

Also worth checking if this is happening at a consistent point in the flight or completely random. If its random its probably the switch, if its at a specific duration or battery percentage that opens up a different can of worms.

yeah do the IMU cal anyway it cant hurt but I doubt thats it. sounds more like a controller input issue or possibly the goggles losing link momentarily and it's defaulting safe. have you checked the signal dropout log in the goggles after it happens? there should be a timestamp you can cross reference with your flight log
