so anyway i had this idea to get a few people from this forum and another discord server i'm on to do a group fly at the reservoir on saturday. got like 8 people to say they were coming, made a whatsapp group, the whole thing. day comes around and 3 people showed, one of them forgot his controller at home which i still dont understand how that happens, and the other guy just kind of flew for 20 minutes and left without saying much. me and the one other dude ended up having a genuinely great time just cruising around and he showed me his long range setup which was super cool actually. but yeah organizing people is hard, dunno if id bother with anything bigger than like 3 or 4 people next time

lmao the guy forgetting his controller is sending me. classic. yeah herding drone people is basically impossible, everyone flakes or shows up two hours late. the smaller the better honestly, my best sessions have been 2 or 3 people max

this is pretty much how every meetup ive tried to organize has gone too. the ones that actually work are usually attached to an existing club that has a regular scheduled thing, people take it more seriously when theres like an actual location they rent or whatever. might be worth finding something like that in your area instead of trying to start from scratch, at least thats what worked for me after a couple of these dissapointing attempts
