First international trip with my Mini 3 - what do I actually need to know?

Planning my first international drone adventure to Thailand next month and honestly feeling overwhelmed by all the conflicting info online. I've read that Thailand requires drone operators to register with the Civil Aviation Authority and hold Thai insurance, but has anyone actually done this recently?

Beyond the legal stuff, what are the practical things I should prepare for? I'm worried about getting to the airport and having customs officials who don't understand the rules. Any tips from fellow travelers who've been through this?
