so yeah. went in this morning feeling pretty decent about it and came out with a 67. three points. i studied for like 6 weeks using mostly youtube and the FAA handbook and i thought i had a decent handle on it but clearly not. the results sheet shows i did worst on airspace and weather which is kind of what i expected but also i thought i knew that stuff well enough.

has anyone else failed and then passed on the second attempt? does the test change a lot between attempts or is it basically the same question pool. i can retest in 14 days i think but im not sure if i should wait longer and do more studying or just go back in two weeks. honestly kind of bummed about it

aw man that sucks, but 67 is actually closer than it feels right now. three points is nothing. i failed my private pilot written the first time so i get the gut punch feeling.

the question pool for 107 is a fixed bank from the FAA, it doesnt really change that often. so you will see some overlap but not the exact same test. what actually helped me nail the airspace stuff was printing out a sectional and literally just sitting with it for like an hour going through every symbol. the FAA aeronautical chart users guide is free and it explains every single symbol on sectionals, that document alone probably added 5-6 points to my score. for weather, METARs are very learnable once you find a good breakdown video, there are some decent ones on youtube if you search METAR explained for pilots.

id say wait 3 weeks not 2, give yourself time to actually fix the gaps instead of just going back in hoping for easier questions.

the question bank doesnt change much, my buddy took it twice within a month and said maybe 20% of questions were different. honestly if airspace and weather are your weak spots just grind practice questions specifically on those two areas, theres no reason to redo the whole study plan from scratch. you clearly know enough of the other stuff
