This has been happening for a few weeks now and I cant figure out if its the controller, the drone itself, or something in my environment. Basically mid flight the video feed just drops for a second or two and sometimes the whole connection blinks out for like 3-4 seconds before coming back. The drone just hovers when it happens which is fine but its really unsettling especially if im any distance out.

Im using the RC controller that came with it, firmware is up to date as far as I can tell. It doesnt seem to happen in any specific place, happened at a completely open field yesterday with no obvious interference around. Signal strength looks fine on the display right up until it drops.

Has anyone dealt with this or know what might cause it, im not sure if I should be contacting DJI support or if theres something simple im missing.

Had something similar a while back and it turned out to be a partially corrupted cache on the RC controller. There's a option buried in the settings to clear the flight cache and after I did that plus did a fresh link of the controller to the drone it pretty much went away. Worth trying before you go down the DJI support rabbit hole honestly.

Also check if you have any apps running in the background on the controller, some people have reported that stuff interfering with the connection. And the antenna orientation matters more than people think ? if the flat side of the antennas are pointing toward the drone you're losing a lot of signal strength.

the antenna thing the person above mentioned is legit, took me embarassingly long to learn that. also have you been flying near any areas with a lot of wifi networks around, even if it feels open sometimes there's residual 2.4ghz interference that doesn't show up obviously. you can switch to 5.8ghz in the transmission settings if you haven't already and see if that changes anything
