flying in Costa Rica next month, what do I need to know

so im heading to Costa Rica for three weeks and obviously bringing the mini 3 pro because how could you not. ive been doing some reading about the rules there and honestly its a bit confusing. from what i can tell DGAC is the aviation authority but i cant find a clear answer on whether tourists need to register or if theres some kind of temporary permit thing. anyone actually flown there recently and dealt with this? also curious about spots near the Osa Peninsula if anyone has been out that way.

went last year, February. honestly the permit situation was kind of a mess to figure out but we ended up just registering online through the DGAC portal before we left. took like a week to hear back so dont wait til the last minute like my buddy did. he just didnt fly at all for the first few days which sucked. the Osa Peninsula is incredible by the way, flew over some of the coastal jungle near Drake Bay and it was probably the best footage ive ever gotten. just watch out for the humidity, had some weird condensation on the lens one morning.

not sure about the exact permit thing but i know national parks are a no-go pretty much everywhere in CR, they take that seriously. i tried to ask at the entrance of one park if there was a way to get permission and the ranger was pretty firm about it. still plenty of private land and beaches to fly from though so its not like youre stuck.
