Complete beginner here - DJI Neo 2 vs Mini 4K for first drone?

I'm completely new to drones and trying to decide between the DJI Neo 2 ($249) and DJI Mini 4K ($299). I want something safe and easy to learn on, but also don't want to outgrow it too quickly.

The Neo 2 seems amazing with palm takeoff and obstacle avoidance, but the Mini 4K has way better flight time (31 min vs 18 min). Which one would you recommend for someone who's never flown before?

I'm mainly interested in taking some cool travel videos and maybe family photos. Budget isn't super tight - I'd rather spend a bit more now if it means not upgrading in 6 months.
